One thing we all know is that becoming relevant on YouTube is hard, STAYING relevant on YouTube is just as hard. However, not being consistent makes that even harder. That is why consistency is key! In this blog post, you will be discovering 5 simple tips on how you can make sure you stay consistent.
Tip #1: Focus on The Content You Want to Make
Typically, many video creators have a list of video ideas that they would like to make. It is a lot easier to want to make videos that you are the most excited about. That is why we suggest that you do exactly that! An advantage of doing this is coming across as sincere and like you ACTUALLY enjoy what you're doing. As stated by YouTube celebrity, Matthew Patrick, in a Content Marketing Institute blog post, “The most successful channels are those that foster a sincere and honest passion with their audience.” Not only will this make the filming and editing process more enjoyable for you, but also benefit your image/brand. This is why it would help you stay consistent.
Tip #2: Create a Routine
Creating a routine is important when it comes to any content creation. However, when talking about YouTube it requires more planning. You need to be able to dedicate certain days for brainstorming, filming, and editing. By establishing these days and having a weekly routine it will be harder to procrastinate making and posting videos. It will guarantee you at least 1 video per week!
Tip #3: Create a Content Calendar
By creating a content calendar you can plan out what days you want to post. There are many tools available for you to do this. According to Social Media Examiner, a lot of people prefer to use Google Sheets or Google Calendar to plan out their content planning and scheduling. This is most likely because they are easy and regularly used platforms. You can also schedule when to post on YouTube. You can select the date, time, and time zone when scheduling your YouTube. By doing this you can schedule videos far in advance and ensure that you are staying consistent.

Tip #4: Make YouTube Shorts
YouTube recently added a new feature called YouTube Shorts. YouTube Shorts are a fun and easy way to stay consistent on YouTube. Although they aren't as long as a typical YouTube video they are still a good way to engage with your viewers. According to Sprout Social, YouTube Shorts were inspired by Instagram Reels. They are short, at best 58 seconds, long videos. They are easy to edit and post. Additionally, YouTube Shorts has reached approximately 15 billion daily average views. Meaning that by posting these YouTube Shorts you will be staying consistent with posting AND reaching a bigger audience.
Tip #5: Stay Motivated
Failing is inevitable. There might be some video ideas that you are super excited about and think your audience will love what you've created, you spent hours filming and editing, and then…it does bad. We know that after something like this happens it might discourage you from wanting to keep doing what you're doing, but it is important to remember that it is inevitable. You have to stay motivated and keep posting. Your previous video might have done poorly but your next one might do great! It is all about enjoying what you do, by doing this staying motivated will seem a lot easier.
At the end of the day, it might seem hard to stay consistent on YouTube, but by doing a little research you’re sure to find some methods that work for you. Next time you feel like you just can’t seem to make time last or it seems like you’re always in a crunch, try out one if not all of the many tips provided in this blog!
