What is the Facebook Ads Manager?

The Facebook Ads Manager is the management tool that is used to manage, create, and edit Facebook and Instagram ads. You can use the Ads Reporting feature to analyze the performance of your ads. You can also manage your budget and create A/B tests to see what ad performs better.

Facebook Ads Manager is best used on a computer but there is an app available for Android and iOS devices. However, the app does not have all the features that are available on a computer.

How to Set Up Facebook Ads Manager

If you don’t already have a Facebook Business Page, you will need to set one up because Facebook doesn’t allow you to run ads through a personal profile. Then, it’s just a few steps to set up.

  1. Visit https://www.facebook.com/business/tools/ads-manager

  2. Click the “Go to Ads Manager” button.

  3. Confirm your information on the set up page.

  4. Add your payment method.

How to Use Facebook Ads Manager

You can create an ad on the platform by clicking the “Create” button. The Ads Manager will take you through the steps of creating the campaign, ad sets, and finally the ad. Consider using a consistent naming convention for your campaigns so you can filter the campaigns when you want to look at the data later.

Facebook allows you to choose an objective at the campaign level. The budget is set at the ad set level which can contain multiple ads. Choose a daily budget or a lifetime spend budget. Target audiences, bidding strategy, and placement are also selected at the ad set level.

Then the ad is set up last. You can choose what Facebook business page and Instagram account that you wish your ad to be linked to. Read our other blog about how to create a Facebook ad for more details on setting up Facebook ads.

With “Account Overview”, you can see a top-level view of your ad account. This will show you the performance data across all of your campaigns. You can customize the columns to show the most relevant information for your goals.

You can create custom reports by navigating to “Analyze and Report” in the upper main menu. Then click “Ads Reporting” then “Create Custom Report”. Select a report and save. You can then schedule the report to be emailed to you.
