Have you ever found yourself completely absorbed in the world of TikTok, scrolling through video after video for hours on end? If so, you're not alone - this rapidly growing platform has captivated millions of users worldwide. But did you know that TikTok also holds massive potential for your business? In this blog post, we'll delve into three simple tips to kickstart your TikTok marketing journey and supercharge your business growth.
Tip Number 1: Know Your Target Audience
When you get your account up and going you need to ask yourself, “Who is my target audience?” This is a question that will establish what your account will look like. If you are a small business promoting a service or product you can try and participate in viral challenges to reach a larger audience. By reaching a larger audience on the platform you are more likely to reach the people who are interested in your service or product. As stated in the article What is TikTok? Everything social media marketers need to know“…viral challenges have also contributed to the platforms growth. Users and brands alike come up with challenges that eventually become viral and compel other users to participate.”
Something else you could do is take a look at what your competitors or other popular influencers are doing. This will help you figure out what your audience likes and dislikes. Once you are able to figure this out, you will be able to apply it to your own unique ideas. For the most part. TikTok has been used to target Gen Z. So, if your target audience is Gen Z this is your time to put your creative traits to work.
Tip Number 2: Growing Your Account
Like every other social media platform, growing your account can be very difficult. However, the number one key is to be as active as possible. This can include posting up to four to eight times a day. Along with this you want to try and participate in as many trends as possible and engage with your audience by going live at least once a week. It states in the article, How to Grow Your TikTok Account: 11 Tips, “TikTok live is available to accounts with at least 1,000 followers. If you have access, go live daily. Live streaming gives you an opportunity to truly connect with your TikTok community.” There is also another very important factor you have to pay attention to and that is TIME! You need to make sure you are posting at the right time. As it states in the article, 11 ways to get more followers on TikTok in 2021, “It’s important to find the best time to post on TikTok in order to see the most reach on your videos.” Using and taking these tips into consideration will surely have your account growing in no time!
Tip Number 3: Create Your Own Viral Challenge
One of the best ways to gain a big audience and a large following would be to make a video that goes viral. This can come in many different forms. Whether you make your own challenge, create your own TikTok hashtag, or even unintentionally go viral it all can benefit your business. This will drive a huge audience to your page. This will also encourage other creators on the platform to participate in your viral challenge or viral hashtag. You might even get lucky and be able to get a big creator with millions of followers to recreate your video or participate in your challenge. Just read what the author of 11 ways to get more followers on TikTok in 2021, Chloe West, had to say in her blog post. “One thing TikTok is famous for is its various video challenges, whether they’re dances, dares, etc. As you scroll through videos on the app, you’ll likely come across a few different challenges. See if any would work for your brand or even consider creating your own TikTok challenge.”
Why Should You Be Using TikTok?
Now why should you be using TikTok? Well for anyone who isn’t already aware, TikTok has been one of the most used apps in the United States and other countries. As mentioned in, What is TikTok? Everything social media marketers need to know, it is the app that sees the highest percentage of active users ages 20 and lower. From a marketer’s point of view, this is a perfect platform for reaching a younger generation. As stated in that same article, “American users are spending more and more money on the platform. By October 2019, they had collectively spent $23.1 million in TikTok in-app purchases.”
The article, TikTok Provides New, Step-by-Step Guides to Creating Branded Content on the Platform, states that “The app is now up to a billion users, rivaling Instagram on this front, and rising much faster, with its engaging, community-focused approach helping to increase interest, and get more people spending more time with TikTok clips.” It looks like the app is here to stay, and many companies are wanting to make their TikTok presence known. So, don’t be the last to hop on the bandwagon of TikTok’s success and get your account started today!
