TikTok Trends...Not Just for Influencers!

TikTok trends are ever-changing and it is hard to keep up. Staying on top of the latest trends is crucial, though, especially on this platform. Things like current events are a good place to start. Connecting with followers and being interactive are also very important elements of a successful TikTok marketing account. Here are 5 tips for staying on trend:


1. Look for Current Events

Current events are typically trending, such as big sporting events, major weather events, and celebrity gossip. Search for these within the app or identify what to search for on major news websites. If it is trending in the news, chances are, it is trending on social media.



2. Check out the "Discover" Feature in TikTok

This tab will show things that are currently trending in TikTok, though they may be nearing the end of their shelf life. Trends on TikTok usually stay relevant for 3-5 days, so ideally you will want to find trends that are under that. This is difficult to do if you are not monitoring the pages daily.


3. Have a Second TikTok Account

Create a TikTok account used solely for the purpose of looking for trends. This will allow you to see trends that may not make it to your own "For You Page" based on algorithms and your preferences. Do things to avoid TikTok's algorithm from picking it up as an interest, such as watching it for too long, clicking on the creator's profile, liking any videos, or following any creators.


4. Create Helpful Content

How-to videos are always trending. Do a how-to video for your job, or a day in the life of....people love to watch how others do their job! Making how-to videos in a series will help ensure people keep coming back for more. Break it up enough to show useful information but not everything all in one.


5. Be Interactive

Give followers a chance to interact with you, and respond when they do! If they comment on your video, reply back! Interaction helps with keeping your videos ranked higher, increasing the likelihood they will appear on more "For You" pages.


TikTok is a great tool for marketing when used properly. Engaging with followers, staying on top of trends, and knowing what consumers are interested in that week are a few of the major keys to running a successful TikTok marketing campaign.
