Educational

The first type of content we will cover is educational content. How-to's, tutorials, and guides are always being searched for every single day. Whether it's a makeup tutorial, how to change a car transmission system, or how to make cheesecake, tutorials are being searched for constantly. There are many different types of formats that you can share your content with. You can make vlogs, YouTube videos, or even infographics. In addition, you can even take it next level and create threads on platforms such as X (formerly known as Twitter) or ephemeral content such as Snapchat stories with new steps following the other. You can make your content as authentic as you want by making it casual and unexpected to come off as relatable or you can stick to being strictly informational and sticking to the facts. In fact, according to Hubspot, about 36% percent of marketers state that they preferably share trend and relatable content. This is because most consumers would agree that funny content can be the type of content that they remember the most. Regardless, educational content is beneficial because it shares information that is helpful to audiences and allows them to have their needs met.

Captivating

The next important type of content is content that is captivating and alluring. It can be any type of emotion that is captivating such as funny, relatable, or even shocking. This type of content is one of the best because it can follow current social trends that many can already relate to. For example, this can include viral memes, trending hashtags and even sounds on platforms such as Instagram or TikTok. This type of content can even include influencer marketing, where audiences can be inspired by others to follow them in their footsteps. It allows them to be inspired and reach their goals or dreams. Inspirational content can also motivate audiences to start new hobbies, routines, or even lifestyles. It also allows people into other’s worlds to make the content feel relatable and be influenced by such person. This type of content can include voiceover reels, jokes and throwbacks on various types of platforms, just make sure you are specifically sticking to the tone of each social media culture. Not only can this type of content be encouraging, it can also be shocking. Although you don’t want to share scandals, tragedies or negative content, you can share interesting content that can be moving and draw attention. This can be interesting facts about the universe that you never knew, or newly discovered types of rare fish on the oceans seafloor. Regardless of what kind of emotions you provoke, captivating media is most definitely an effect type of content that you want to share for optimal conversion to establish your brand.

Brand-Focused

The last common type of content is brand-focused content and promoting other brands as well. This can include promotional content that is prevalent in the social media marketing world. This one is very important because you can seriously increase your traffic by promoting other large brands. This is a great type of content because most brands will be happy to share your content if you share theirs. This also shows humility and authenticity to your audience. You can even include your community’s content to share a great message and bring customers to your brand by showing that you care about your own environment. This also allows you to reply or mention others in your community to create a positive dialogue in the community. This is a great choice for content because it allows you to add value to your brand by stamping yourself with authenticity. You can also repurpose another brand’s content by tweaking it to make it more relevant to your brand and the target platform. This is also a great way to tell your audience about upcoming or current sales as well as collaborations with other brands. You can share audiences that are in a similar niche and create products that are limited to time so that they can become sought-after products.

Whether you want to bring in more traffic or clicks, or simply catch better engagement try out these different types of social media content on a frequent basis to see what type of content is best for you. It is always a good rule of thumb to have a mix in order to be successful, but all will drive value and positivity to your brand.
