Honestly, when I first heard of social media marketing, I did not have a clue what it really meant. At first, I thought it was simple and easy. You just make a post or a video and put it out there to get likes and shares. Slowly I began to realize more and more that there is a way to post and get two likes and there is a way to post and get 1000 likes. Nothing prepared me for entering these marketing classes and thinking I had it all down just because I posted a few pics on social media and got likes. This post hopefully helps with the whole understanding of how to make posting easier. It wasn’t until now that I barely have gotten the hang of social media marketing.

Colors manipulate the brain

Firstly, let’s start with some psychology, and no it is not emotional damage. I want to start off by highlighting that even the least thought of like color can be such an eye opener or attention grabber. This comes from a blog called “How to choose the best colors for your social Media Graphics” ( https://www.socialmediatoday.com/news/how-to-choose-the-best-colors-for-your-social-media-graphics-infographic/631581/) Red in marketing can issue one’s heart to race or create an impulsive purchase due to the passion and intensity it gives off. If you want to post something that you want readers to eat, drink, or hurry to I would suggest red. For example, Red Bull, Coca-Cola, and H&M. Blue can be a trick to add some peace to the marketing post. With peace comes trust like the American Express logo. When using this trick, you can make your consumer feel secure and give off the vibe of loyalty. Yellow can be used for something more for kids or showing happiness. It grabs the consumers' attention and creates a sense of cheerfulness like a happy face or simply Ikea. Another trick to grab the consumers' attention and have them impulsively buy something would be to use the color orange. Sometimes it can make a person feel like the brand is cautious and business-like and sometimes it creates a warm, fun, and creative feeling.

Green can have you feel calmer because it creates a sense of nature and or money. Some examples are Lacoste which makes you think of green money and Animal planet which makes you think of nature. The last tip for color use would be if the product wants to be associated with wealth and luxury it is best to use purple. This is also true if you use purple to show wisdom or something more calming like yoga. Ways to stay organized

One thing that would help me with my postings is a social media calendar or template. There are 5 great calendars and templates that stood out to me when I read the blog called “13 social media calendars, tools, & templates to plan your content" (https://blog.hubspot.com/marketing/social-media-calendar-tools). This easy tip will help you balance out most of the posts and blogs you plan to introduce to your social media marketing. For me, life is never planned I always travel randomly, and I always have emotional roller coasters so having something I can actually stick to would be nice especially because they are easy to use plus most are free for personal use! First would be HubSpot’s Template which is free it comes all made for you and all you have to do is fill it in with your ideas. The great thing about this tip is that you can put social media posts that are for the future that way you can be up to date and won’t get behind on posts. This template is for small teams that usually have a lot on their plate.

Next will be Google Drive which is free for personal use and has a small charge that starts at $6 a month for larger teams or businesses. Google Drive can easily click with HubSpot to upload files apart from having so many tricks that you may use even if you are just working on bettering one post.

The third one I would like to talk about would be Loomly which has a 15-day trial that is free and if you plan to use it it would only cost $26 a month. This allows 2 users on it but if you have a large 10 people then you can switch to an annual plan. This one is a quicker way to do everything along with it is not necessary for you to open up other platforms to answer your comments. Loomly can easily allow you to answer people on their site and chit chat with other followers. Trello is one that is free for individual use, but the plan starts at $5 so not bad really. The deal with this one is it allows you to send individual cards out to your members with due dates and comments so everyone can be up to date. You may use this to assign different jobs to each one of the members.

Lastly is StoryChief which may be the most expensive one at $90 per month which can be paid annually. This gives you the ability to have SEO copywriting tools with this you can improve the way you talk on your posts depending on the site you post on.

Different ways to edit

I wanted to incorporate something that may help us at the end of the writing journey. For me, I always have a hard time going back and editing things because I never know what to look for. So, for this last tips and tricks, I would like to address the editing part of social media marketing. I got these tips from “40 Quick Editing Tips for Writers”( https://copyblogger.com/editing-tips-for-writers/). I would like to highlight some of the ones that caught my eye and relate to me, but you are more than welcome to visit the blog for more tips.

The first one is to build yourself up to actually editing! This means getting yourself in the mood or preparing your brain by researching some other blogs. Get ideas from everywhere that way when editing comes in you know how to catch the reader’s attention in different ways.

The second one is to think about your audience and put yourself in their shoes. You do not need paragraphs on paragraphs; sometimes you can have bullet points and that helps a lot more. If you see some words or parts that seem confusing just take them out.

Last is adding your own voice to the blog or post. I try to do this a lot even though I try to make it more business-like I still want to add a little bit of myself to it.

Have confidence in your post and never be too hard on yourself this is from personal experience.
