Is there a strategy involved in TikTok? Isn’t TikTok just to show your company in a different light, in a humorous or more serious way? Well, it can be utilized that way but reach the maximum amount of people while doing so.
Hubspot mentions that 93% of marketers have implemented TikTok into their content strategies and 52% plan on increasing their investments in the app this year. There are many ways to post views onto TikTok. From certain times to the wording used in captions, an overall better understanding of the infamous algorithm can help boost your brand to a whole new level.
Timing
The timing of the actual video is a crucial part of posting for awareness. Certain times have a higher engagement than others. Why is this important? Well, the more views equal the more awareness. The more awareness, the likelihood of someone commenting increases.
Hubspot gives us insightful tips on which days are the best to post. These include Saturday, Friday, and Sunday with times of highest engagement being from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Captions and Sounds
The wording might be the most overlooked part of a TikTok. But in my opinion, could be the most crucial part of any video. The use of hashtags is your best friend that leads to many new audiences that share the same interests, specifically when first starting out.
Social Media Examiner gives the tip to not use extremely generic hashtags that already have a high volume to them. Another insightful piece of advice is to use trending sounds and music. This is a great way to capture brand awareness that can come from many different audiences that could possibly appeal to your content.
Algorithm and Analytics
TikTok’s algorithm is known to be always changing. Keeping up to date with those changes is important to monitor if your current content schedule needs to be updated. From what I have seemed to notice is that TikTok will push the content more when it has many comments.
A great tip is to always pose a question in your videos, whether that question is in the comments or said out loud in the video. Anything that generates some sort of reaction that has the consumer interaction with the video will be pushed even more.
Hubspot mentions that it is possible to over-post and saturate yourself on TikTok which could lead to certain videos not getting many views. The maximum amount of times one should post throughout the week would be 4-6 times a week.
There are other ways to boost your content that are paid. TikTok offers the option to post your video as an ad that will promote your content for certain rates. Hubspot offers a guide to TikTok ads from How They Work + Cost and Review Process.
What Works Best
Ultimately, it is up to you to decide how seriously to take TikTok. It can be used simply for fun or as an easy editing tool or you could use it as your main source to expand to a new target market. One thing is for certain, don’t overlook the power that TikTok can do for your brand.
