When it comes to graduating college, searching for the right career for you in marketing may be challenge. This may especially be a challenge due to the constant rumor of how artificial intelligence might take over marketing jobs and careers. Artificial Intelligence (AI) has not taken over marketing jobs just yet but has benefited marketing as a whole. This blog will discuss what marketing jobs will use AI, how to use AI to assist you in your own marketing job, and what tools AI offers to help marketers in their career.

What New Marketing Jobs Are Using Artificial Intelligence?

As many marketing career paths you can choose to take, it is suggested that you find one that utilizes artificial intelligence. Since AI has taken off, it has been used in many jobs, with marketing being one of them. Many people fear that AI is going to take away people's jobs in marketing, yet many believe that this is not the case just yet. Artificial intelligence is something that can help marketers with many aspects of their work. In the blog "New Marketing Jobs that Focus on AI," they discuss how even though new jobs in marketing have a focus on AI, AI still plays a huge role in current marketing jobs. Erica Santiago, who published this blog, states what new jobs that consist of AI. One of the new jobs includes content writers with AI expertise, which consist of AI Content Writers, AI Writer, AI Writing Specialist, and AI Content Marketing Expert. Other jobs that are not considered new to marketing include Social Media Experts and Managers. But new jobs within this title consist of new names that Erica suggests you look out for. These new names include Social Media Manager, Marketing Director, and Social Media Ad Creator. Erica found that 31% of marketers in these social media roles use artificial intelligence. Some extra marketing roles that require knowledge of AI include SEO Specialist, Marketing Coordinator, Director of Marketing, and Marketing Consultant. While some of the jobs you have heard listed have been around, the jobs are constantly changing because of AI and how it benefits these roles. So, this goes to show how jobs are not being taken away from artificial intelligence, yet it is helping make these jobs more organized, productive, and efficient.

How to Use Artificial Intelligence to Assist in Your Career and What Tools Can Be Used From AI

Artificial Intelligence has shown much growth in what it can do for you, whether in your work or personal life. For example, if you want to create your own picture of something, you can ask AI to do that, or if you need to brainstorm some ideas about a topic, you can ask AI on Chat GPT. You will get what you need from AI in a matter of seconds, yet it cannot be what you are looking for or asking for. Stephanie Stahl in the article, "How Hard is it to Find Content or Marketing jobs (And How Much Should They Pay)" discussed how majority of people believe that AI does not get the full job done and how some say the work they receive from AI looks soulless. The human touch is what connects real marketing content with other humans, not an AI-generated post. However, there are many reasons why we should use artificial intelligence and the many tools that can assist us. Marketers discussed which AI is considered high value when using it in their work, and the list came out to some of these tools:

  • Proofreading

  • Outlining assignments

  • Summarizing content

  • Brainstorming

  • Article drafts

  • Data performance

  • Optimizing content

With many more tools out there, these are some listed in the blog that shows how much AI is used to create content in marketing. These tools also help marketers feel more organized and more efficient when finding information needed to create content. In the article "AI For Business: Use Cases and Trends," Michael Stelzner shares some tools in AI that are used within marketing. These ways of using AI consist of generation, extraction, summarization, rewriting, questioning, and classification.

  • Generation: Generates/creates data.

  • Extraction: Look through existing data to find what you are looking for specifically.

  • Summarization: Summarize your data and keep what is important in your content.

  • Rewriting: Same content but written in a different way.

  • Questioning: Ask a question, and AI will find relevant information from its data to answer you.

  • Classification: Identify key topics/points.

Understanding how to use these ways of AI will help you understand what kind of artificial intelligence you need for your content. Using any of these tools of AI will help you produce the best marketing content in an efficient time frame.

Conclusion

With all said and done with the uproar of artificial intelligence, it is not going to take away marketing careers or jobs. Trends come and go and being in marketing means being able to adapt to the changes of technology, consumers, and trends. With artificial intelligence only getting bigger, why not use it to our advantage? There are so many tools within artificial intelligence that can only help benefit your content when used correctly. This means understanding what tools AI provides and when to use each tool provided for you. Artificial intelligence is going to benefit your organization, as well as your content, in terms of effectiveness and efficiency. This technology will help you spend more time on creating the content rather than figuring out how to get the information needed to start. Artificial intelligence has also created new jobs within marketing. Beginning to learn how useful artificial intelligence is will not only help you in any current marketing job but any new ones that are created with the use of this technology. Whether you are trying to find a job or you are still finishing up school, building skills and having knowledge of artificial intelligence will set you up for being more prepared in life and in your career in marketing.
