TikTok, a social media app that features short, shareable videos, is rapidly growing in popularity. The app makes it simple for users to create and share media. Fortunately for marketers, the app also makes it easy to run social media advertisements and share with millions of attainable customers. Are you ready to hop on the latest trend?

 

Before you Create your Account


#1- Is TikTok right for your business?


Determine your target market. Do the demographics match up? According to Social Media Examiner, 66% of TikTok users are under 30 years old; 41% are between the ages of 16 and 24


Set a budget. Can you afford to run TikTok ads? Make sure to estimate your advertising budget before deciding to advertise on Tiktok. If Tiktok is a new platform for your business, you may encounter hidden start-up costs, so make sure to figure your budget before you start an account.


#2- Set Goals


Outline your objectives of running a TikTok advertisement account. What is your potential reach? Who do you want to target? How fast do you want to grow? Knowing what you want to achieve helps build a stronger base for reaching your goals. Your goals should align with your image for brand equity and how you want your target market to perceive your product or service. Your goals should also be written in S.M.A.R.T format: specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, time-bound.


#3- Brainstorm Content to Create


The first step in figuring out what to post is figuring out your target market. Utilize Tiktok’s unique features of short videos and full-screen mode to make advertisements that align with other content on TikTok. This ensures your advertisements will not be “interruptive,” as stated by Social Media Today.

 

How to Start your TikTok Account


#1- Create your Advertisement Account


Making an ad account is pretty self-explanatory, but it helps to know what you are doing. When you first set up your Tiktok ad account, you will have to fill out a form to get your account set up. After that, it can take anywhere up to two days for TikTok to get your account fully ready.


#2- Make an Advertisement Campaign and Set your Targets


On the TikTok ad account, there will be options available to start an ad campaign. After you start your campaign, you can also set targets. There will be a place to enter keywords to characterize your app or website. Make sure these keywords are tailored to your target audience. Then, you will be able to set specific details to target your customers. These details include age, interests, location, gender, and more.


#3- Set a Budget and Schedule on TikTok


Before you started your account, you should have already had an estimated budget for running Tiktok ads. After you create your account, you can set a budget and schedule so you can pace your advertising. The app will allow you to select your optimization goal.


#4- Make your Advertisement
