Do you ever wonder how other brands or people get all the likes and comments on TikTok, Facebook, or even Instagram, yet your page can never keep up with these other pages? There are many ways that engagement can be increased on social platforms. Social media can be scary especially when talking about it in terms of marketing. There are many moving parts, and trends seem to be constantly changing. However, it can be simpler than we tend to think it is! Here are a few tips and tricks to get started with increasing engagement across your social media platforms.
Boosting a Post Through Payment
First and foremost, there is always the option of paying to play. This can be done on most of the major social media platforms, such as Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. Boosting a post gives you the option to reach your target audience rather than anyone and everyone across the social media platform. You can set an age range, what your goal for the post is for the business and even a timeline for how long you would like the post to be seen by your target audience. By choosing these aspects of who you want to see your post you can help create more engagement. Since you have set specifications for your target audience, you're more likely to reach those who would want to interact with your content, thus creating more engagement. You can find detailed instructions on how to boost a post on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter in this blog post from HubSpot.
Keep it Simple -- Don't Overthink it
Sometimes when it comes to marketing tactics, we tend to overthink them. There are small adjustments that can be made or applied to increase engagement on your social media post. Something as simple as posting on a regular and consistent basis can ensure that your audience will continue to see your content regularly. If you are not giving your audience content to engage with, you will not be able to increase engagement with your post. Respond to those that do engage with your content. In this blog from HubSpot, they suggest asking your audience questions. By asking questions you're creating an opportunity for dialogue with your audience and an opportunity for them to respond to the post. In addition, stay consistent with your theme. If you are working with a brand they most likely have a color scheme they use and one that is recognized by their audience. If you change this up they may get confused and not recognize it as a post by their favorite brand and just scroll by.
Getting More Likes on TikTok
Likes are an extremely important part of TikTok. Those that have many likes from users tend to show up more on the For You Page on the platform. In a blog from Hootsuite found here, they explain this by saying “They serve as social proof”. When a video has an abundance of likes, it leads others to want to watch the clip as it must be something good, they need to see. Not only do likes help people want to watch your content, but you can also make money off of them as well!
In a blog from Hootsuite, you can find some great tips on how to get likes on TikTok. One tip is to just ask for them, we see this often on the platform. A content creator will pull you in with an intriguing storyline and at the end add a caption over the video that says "like for part 2," increasing the likes on the post by promising another part of the story. There is a common saying many have heard throughout their lives and that is “just ask -- the worst thing they can say is 'no'”. So why not apply this method of thinking to your TikTok content as well! It is also important to note that while you can purchase likes on the platform, it is not recommended! Purchasing likes for your videos could lead to various issues for your page.
