You’re starting to get the hang of things and you’ve been killing it with your social media marketing. But are you ready to keep learning and advance your skills even more so? There are a few simple strategies to add to your wheelhouse that you might just be able to use sooner than later. These skills will help you achieve more Twitter followers, use Instagram comments to turn people into customers, and utilize Facebook carousel ads to attract attention to your brand.
Increase Twitter Followers
Twitter may seem like a platform that wouldn’t do much for your brand but think again. According to Moz, Twitter is a lightweight, frictionless, and serendipitous way to engage customers. It doesn't require an email blast or the customer actively visiting your site. Once they follow you, they'll encounter you on their timeline during the normal course of their social experience. A couple of tweet notifications here and there and the occasional post that catches their eye will accrue tremendous value for you. There are five tips to help you increase those followers and that’s by:
1. Continue the conversation
Don’t just reply to a customer and let that be the end of it. You want your Twitter handle to circulate around as much as you can. Try commenting and replying in particular with the positive customers because we want as many people with good conversations as we can get!
2. Tweet when your followers are online
By using resources like Buffer or Twitter Analytics, you can easily browse through and see what your customers are doing and when the best time will be to Tweet out to them.
3. Don’t blindly follow back
You want to follow with a purpose. Your follows should be both strategic and designed to elicit follow-backs. With that, you also want those checking out your handle to see a compelling follower to friend ratio.
4. Tweet frequently, but not too frequently
Put in great attention to detail and effort into the content you’re producing but don’t bombard your followers with too much every day. Spread out your content if you do need to tweet several things out.
5. Track your churn
Check to see who exactly you’re losing and if there’s any correspondence with the time of day and what day to see if you can determine what drove them away.
Instagram Comments
When you post a stunning graphic or an interesting story, you might expect some of your followers to comment without even thinking twice. Unfortunately, it’s not always that easy. In order to get your audience to comment, be direct with what you have to say. By including calls-to-action in your captions, you’re able to tell your followers exactly how you’d like them to react to your content as described by Anna from Social Media Examiner.
One way to receive engagement is by asking your followers for feedback or their opinion on a topic to prompt comments. This could even be as simple as telling people to comment on their favorite emoji. By trying these techniques, you can hear directly what you’re doing right and maybe what you could improve on.
By then taking it one step further and responding to some of the comments: you begin to form a relationship and your brand is seen as responsive and engaged. You can respond directly on the post, use it as an opportunity to create a reel, or just DM the customer one-on-one. By trying out a few of these strategies you are setting your brand up for a higher engagement rate and the potential for more conversions from your customers.
Facebook Carousel Ads
Not quite sure what a Facebook carousel ad is? Facebook carousel ads are a type of dynamic, interactive ad that marketers can use to showcase between 2 and 10 pictures or videos in one ad space. With this, you’re giving followers an organic experience that is different from scrolling through a Facebook feed or through Instagram stories.
In order to get the most success out of your ads, there are a few tips to consider. Semrush explains that you want to keep your message clear and lean on visual space to demonstrate your product. One of the most important tips is to position your best-
selling products first. This almost seems obvious but when it’s hard enough as it is
to grab the attention of users, you can’t waste opportunities.
To end with this, businesses that sell lots of products can benefit from the feature’s ample ad real estate and can truly amplify your marketing campaign with a well-crafted product ad. However, keep in mind that if you have no marketing strategy in place or an objective set when creating your ad, it could lead to a confusing message to your readers. Carousel ads on Facebook can be a great tool to add to your marketing knowledge base, so try using this in your future campaigns!
Hopefully, now you feel more confident moving forward about the strategies mentioned. If you want to learn even more about what Facebook has to offer, try reading this article by my colleague Kasey on how to create a Facebook ad.
By using some of the tips mentioned that cover increasing Twitter followers, your business is already on track to grow and expand to a wider audience. Instagram comments are great for your brand and to help receive high engagement rates, but be sure to double-check on how those comments can also convert your readers to customers. Lastly, Facebook carousel ads are an underused resource, but when used properly, this tool can be a game-changer in your upcoming marketing campaign.
