Someone is more likely to pick up a book by the way the cover looks or merely by reading the first sentence of the title. Social media posts can engage readers in the same manner. What makes readers interact can be from a variety of things such as videos, hashtags, or images. The main goal for social media posts is engagement. But what exactly can make people stop scrolling past your post and engage with it? Here are some helpful tips.

The Use of #Hashtags

Hashtags has become a must-have in many social media posts. The reason they have become so popular is because when you can click on the hashtag, and it can help you find similar content.

Tips for using hashtags include:

  • Do not use long hashtags

  • Limit to 2-3 hashtags per post

  • Double check where these hashtags links to

  • Make sure the hashtag is relevant to your content

Use A Call-to-Action

Another way to keep your audience engaged to your posts is by having a Call-to-Action, a prompt that tells your users to perform a certain action, such as "subscribe," "share," "register," or "download." This helps let users know what they can accomplish when engaging with your post.

Do Not Be a Spammer

Creating content can be useful to keep users engaged, but too much posting can drive away your followers. This helps you determine what your followers are looking for and what kind of posts they like the best.
