Do you want to get more engagement on Twitter? Is it frustrating when you post something, and no one interacts with it? Twitter, with a massive audience base of around 330 million monthly users, is a social media platform that is more complicated than you think. I will provide some simple steps to improve your personal or business Twitter account.
Know Your Audience
To begin you must be able to know your audience so that you can catch them at the right time. Catching your audience at the perfect time means that when you post on Twitter, you post at the time when all your audience is on. Timing is one of the most crucial factors that influences how well your tweet performs. You need to find the perfect window during the day that you will attract the best results out of all your followers. All of this varies depending on the location you live in and the industry in which you are You must be willing to do some research and even test runs before you understand your audience and can post at the perfect time of the day. Knowing your audience is important when developing a marketing strategy, because most of the population in the US has a social media profile. If more than half of the population is using social media, many brands and businesses are also on the same track, which means there is a lot of competition. According to HubSpot, the best time to tweet is from noon to 3 pm or later at 5 pm. It is a perfect time and coincides with people’s lunchtime and the time when they go home from work. Twitter engagement is important because it can always improve, it is enormously valuable when it comes to building a relationship with individual members of your target audience.
Interacting with Other Users' Tweets
It is important to interact with other users’ tweets on Twitter, you must be willing to socialize with other users. Socializing on Twitter can be difficult but doing it can pay off. I am pretty sure we have all seen the Twitter account of Wendy’s and how they reply to almost every comment on Twitter They are known for all the funny reactions they leave people. “Wendy’s is the queen of comebacks and savage when it comes to roasting competitors and consumers alike on Twitter. With more than 6,500 restaurants globally, Wendy’s company is the world’s third-largest fast-food hamburger company, with a market cap of $4.5B and over 3.4 million Twitter followers. Over the last few years, the brand has perfected the act of serving fun-loving snarky tweets, but this hasn’t always been the case.” According to Katie McCall from Rival IQ she talks about the rise of Wendy’s on Twitter and how they were not always successful but once they became known for all the funny reactions they leave people, it all changed. People started following Wendy’s page not because of the food they sell but because of the funny reactions they would leave others. They not only had more followers, but they started getting more engagement such as likes and comments on almost all their posts. Thousands of people started commenting on all their posts, hoping that Wendy’s would reply with something hilarious. Wendy’s showed how it is possible to grow your engagement on Twitter by networking with other users. Gaining engagement on Twitter is not hard you just have to be willing to do extra and interact with your followers.
Keep Your Tweets Relevant
An easy way to generate ideas and create video content is to monitor what is popular across top Twitter accounts and keep an eye on what is trending. Staying active and updated on the trends weekly can give you an advantage over your competitors. “Utilizing engaging media content such as GIFs, videos, and memes will immediately help your organic Twitter engagement.” According to Brian Peters from Twitter, posting more will give your more engagements but posting more with actual quality and eye-catching posts will bring more than before. People love to be entertained; they would rather be entertained than be informed. Since the audience prefers to be entertained, you should focus on what the audience wants. Staying on track with weekly trends and interacting with all of them should put your posts out to more people and gain more interactions.
As you can see, boosting your Twitter engagement comes with many benefits. By following the guidelines above, you can increase your chances of success on Twitter.
