Of course it is! In-fact demand for digital marketers is growing exponentially, and it is expected to stay this way for the foreseeable future. According to researchers 68% marketing teams will grow on an average of 6-8 people in the next 2 years! That is great news if you plan on seeking a career in social media marketing upon graduation!



Reason 1: Digital marketing is one of the hottest fields for young professionals entering the workforce

According to research 55% of consumers learn about brands from social media. That stat is even higher among younger generations at 78% of gen z finding out about brands online. 68% of consumers believe that it is important to connect with brands on social media. This further proves that fact that social media will not slow down anytime soon and the demand for digital marketers will continue to grow.


Not only is this demand a sign of a growing industry but is also reassurance for marketers in a time where many people face uncertainty. One thing is clear- if you're graduating with a degree in marketing there will be fierce demand for you upon entering the workforce.

The field of marketing is one of the most creative industries. With a constant flow of new methods and ideas you have the opportunity to pave the way for the future of marketing through unique and innovative methods. Not only will you be tasked with coming up with approaches to engage with consumers, but you'll also be tasked with doing so in a way that beats out your competition. How fun!


Your creativity will be limitless and will be needed everywhere from initial campaign brainstorming all the way through the launch of your successful marketing campaigns.

The marketing industry consists of many career paths, from analytics, event coordination, content creation and curation, social media-specific roles, account managers, public relations, and more. Not only do career paths vary but so do the mediums through which you reach people. The list of social media sites seems to grow constantly - and the good news is that more roles will be created to continue meeting this growth. This means you'll be able to find a passion somewhere in all the career paths social media has to offer. You'll just have to do some searching.
